Lynnette lawsuit against Charles and his company also increases more than most places a riff between her and Gabrielle
Angie and Nick Bolen are forced to pay the medical expenses of uninsured Danny, despite his secret identity will be discovered. Nick wants to go downstairs, but it is not Angie wants to stay and live a life as fugitives.
It’s beautiful, and skillfully provides a time (so far) a perverse pleasure surprises unstoppable but the ironies were not as significant or very serious. It’s a show, manipulates his characters, generates the lazy mood, for the sake of being a spectacle, and the desire to maintain watchable. Like many television successes of the 2000s “(Alias, Prison Break, etc) as its main objective the production of emotion, but I have always believed that the most fascinating could be the easiest thing is without points of view to observe a society at the time. For example, the characters are more caricatures of human beings. Let us not forget, what was originally a comedy act that had been rejected by almost all networks until the blood is added to it. Typical of the 2000s believe it was the CSI!
(Knots Landing) began as a primetime soap opera with social concerns and the feeling of the operas of the 1980s “soap others where gambling and the state, as the hardcore killing sumptuous feasts the day: Dallas, Dynasty, Falcon Crest, but somehow the social interests ultimately prevailed. Desperate Housewives took the life of the middle class and mixed with the fever and the flamboyant touch of the other party, to establish a formula for its own where the fun is the ultimate goal. Forget the clever narrative (some of them are smart though), forget the spectacle of being a character study, and forget about reading your community accurately. It is a journey of absolute genius, where the script in a highly professional manner give him some nice moments to laugh, get excited, only.

Top 3 David Lynch Movies

Since his debut film “Eraserhead” in 1977 David Lynch has carved his own niche in the film industry, writing and directing some of the most unique and strange films to come out of California. He has since been nominated for 13 Oscars for films he has worked on. Here is a quick introduction to the work of David Lynch and his top three films.
Blue Velvet
One of Lynch’s most famous films in large part due to the controversy surrounding it and the extensive hatred film critic Roger Ebert had for Lynch’s vision, “Blue Velvet” is still a strange, dream-like trip down main street of everytown-USA where everything isn’t as it seems. Starring Kyle MacLachlan, who would star in Lynch’s TV series “Twin Peaks” and play a reoccurring role in “Sex in the City” as well as Isabella Rossellilni, Dennis Hopper and Laura Dern, “Blue Velvet” attempts to show the seedy underside to our seemingly perfect small town American cities.
The Elephant Man
One of Lynch’s most straightforward and accessible films, “The Elephant Man” starred an indistinguishable John Hurt as disfigured Joseph Merrick and Anthony Hopkins as the man who tries to save him. Shot in black and white, “The Elephant Man” was hailed for its sensitive and accurate portrayal of Merrick’s life and appearance. Lynch handles the subject matter admirably, leaving out many of his strange directorial quirks in favor of telling a more straightforward story that will make you cry.
Mulholland Drive
Arguably the most important film of the decade, “Mulholland Drive” is a mysterious, noir-like psychological thriller mixes part Hitchcock, part soap opera, and part uniquely Lynch. It is one of the best movies about Hollywood made since possibly “Singing in the Rain,” and to this day, is debated because of its often contradictory, purposely oblique images and dialogue. “Mulholland Drive” was a powerful and breakout role for Naomi Watts who pulls no punches in her dual role in the film. No matter how you want to interpret its scenes, one thing is for sure, “Mulholland Drive” is a strong reflection on the often deadly allure and influence of Hollywood, the bright hid lights, and the pressures it puts on humans.

Mark Consuelos, who recently concluded his hosting gig for the reality dating show Age of Love, is set to play the title role in the film Husband for Hire. The new original movie for the Oxygen cable channel is set in Mexico, and is written by Kris Isacsson in cooperation with producers Tim Perell and Howard Gertler of Process Media, a company responsible for productions such as My Sexiest Mistake, Tempting Adam and Romancing the Bride.
Debby Beece, Oxygen’s president of programming and marketing, officially announced the movie, saying, “Husband for Hire, with its hilarious, gorgeous cast, is a perfect romantic comedy for Oxygen. This will be our fourth original movie with Tim and Process Media, and nobody knows our audience better than them.”
The romantic comedy will feature Mark Consuelos as Nate, who is hired by a Latina businesswoman named Lola, played by Nadine Velasquez of My Name Is Earl. She gets him to be her pretend husband to get her share of the family fortune.
Other cast members include Mario Lopez (Saved by the Bell) as the ex-fiance of Lola, Erik Estrada (Sealab 2021) who plays Lola’s traditional father and Tempestt Bledsoe (The Cosby Show, South of Nowhere) as Lola’s no-nonsense best friend.

Sappy love stories have its ways of getting onto us. The best ones are written by poets and romance authors. However, there is nothing more joyous than being in amour. Love stories are plentiful and hearing one may even spark the memory of your own romantic reminiscence. There are also break up stories which would bring a tear to your eye.
Latin American soap operas toy with monotonous housewives with intriguing plots which often revolve around the affairs and relationship encounters between the strikingly attractive characters. These daily drama serials, usually referred to as telenovela, are actually very similar in storyline. The elements are quite predictable, such unlawful affairs in past which brings out hidden familial linkages between the feuding characters. More often than not, the antagonist and protagonist are somehow related, relatively unknown to the fact in the initial stage of the plot.
Then there is also the element of murder and suspense. No drama is considered as a legitimate form of entertainment without these aforementioned characteristics. A certain character is framed and gets thrown into prison without having a chance of defending himself and then seeks revenge on the villain after being released.
In Bollywood, every emotion is celebrated by breaking into song. The grandeur backdrops of the enchanting snowy tops of Switzerland, the pedestrian-gawking roadside of London and the warm beaches of Mauritius are the favorite target of big-time film-makers when preparing for a song sequence. The lyrics of the song would then become a dialogue. Even in the Southern Indian film industry, the formula for a successful movie is obligatory to have at least two songs in it. Romance is also a huge part of the plot in an Indian movie.
At the end of the day, 90’s singer proudly sang,’ love will save the day’ in her famous track called ‘You Gotta Be.’

Alternatives to Story Telling

There aren’t any! There, I’ve spoiled it for you, told you the ending before I even set the scene and outlined the case. Sorry, that’s not very good practice, but it proves my point. We all love a good story, one with a start, some middle and a proper ending. We can’t help it, we were born that way. We were hardwired from birth to accept facts, information, history and learning in that structured way. People who understand that particular aspect of human nature - like Dan Brown - can make a good living from feeding our hunger.
Some people aren’t so sure. I was talking to a student friend of mine from China and I asked him what Chinese young people and students were reading these days. I expected to hear ‘Harry Potter’ or Dan Brown, or maybe even magazines like Maxim or FHM. He looked completely blank. Hesitatingly, he said that all of his friends spend most of their time on their laptop computers and mobile phones. They listen to music, send and receive texts, emails and downloads, gossip and chat. What about books? Ah, books, he said, light dawning, those are the things we need for our studies.
Of course it’s not quite as bad as that. Harry Potter is indeed a well-known figure in China, as you will know for yourself if you’ve ever logged on to any Chinese websites. Ads for the young wizard occur on most Chinese news media sites. As do ads for movies, games and music. But these young students from China, they don’t read stories, right? Yes? Well then, what is ‘gossip’ exactly? It’s tales of personal experiences, mostly embarrassing, things you want to keep quiet. What is ’soap opera’? Even people who claim never to read a story book, most of them will be familiar with the goings on in Emmerdale, Ramsey Street or Coronation Street, Walford and the Queen Vic pub. And ‘goings on’ are stories. They are things that happen to people - first this happened, then that, and then, oh no, this is awful, that happened. Yes, it’s a story. It just doesn’t get put into words and published in a book, like we’ve been used to for the last three hundred years. It gets acted out, and then we get to know the actors and worry about them and their stories, their lives, their loves, their scandals. What’s a scandal? Another story, usually one with an unhappy ending.
My assertion here is that the mediums we are currently experiencing are changing rapidly. We didn’t have such a thing as an internet when I was a lad, and I’m old enough to have seen tape cassettes arrive and now, recently, disappear, as a way of listening to music. But songs are still here, and some of the songs I grew up with, such as The Beatles, I’ve seen on vinyl, recorded on cassette tape, on CD, and, most recently, available as a download on my computer. That hasn’t changed the song, or the experience of listening to such great music. The presentation has changed, and my ability to carry it around and share it with my friends, but the music is still there. The Beatles? Ever hear a song called ‘Eleanor Rigby’ by them? Yeah, sorry, but it’s a story. Well, you probably knew that too.
The point is that if the format changes, then the creator of the work might change too. For hundreds of years we’ve had stories in book form and their originator was called ‘an author’ and revered as a solitary creator, someone with wisdom, life experience and writing skills. These days we’ve got Dan Brown. No, I’m not running him down, honest, but I need to point out that he created a book and that book was turned into a film. It didn’t go out of his hands, however. If you’ve seen the movie, you’ll know that Dan is listed as some sort of ‘Executive Producer’. That’s the way things are going. Dan invents the story and it comes out in book form and then makes the jump into the cinema - oh sorry, I forgot that films are available in your own home now as well, as DVDs, or downloads. (It used to be video tape, but that’s come and gone as well, hasn’t it?) Heck, you can even put them on your phone. Yes, the format is changing. The thing that hasn’t changed is that someone, some person, some creator, has to come up with the thing in the first place - and it doesn’t matter if that’s a group, or a team, or a writing partnership, even a husband and wife duo. That act of creation, the formation of ‘the story’, is fundamental to everything that arrives in your bookstore, on your television, in your local cinema, or on your home computer. Whether that’s a ‘writer’, a TV executive, a producer, an agent, or whatever, someone has to do what people have been doing since we all sat around camp fires outside our caves and listened to someone with the inventiveness to weave us a story and enthrall us all.
Two things. One, these people are important. The recent writers’ strike in America should convince us of that. We can’t manage without story tellers of one form or another. They are intrinsic to any creative process, whatever the form. And second, the technical side doesn’t matter, not to the audience. Tell me, honestly, does the fact that your house is now full of DVDs and not video tapes make any damn difference to whether you enjoy the musical or the Kung Fu action thriller, really? I mean, if Shakespeare was alive today, he might be writing dramas for TV and using a computer word processor. Would that demean his talent and make his creations any less enthralling? No, the format and the outcome is irrelevant to what we started with - the hunger. We all have a need to hear stories, whether it’s gossip, soap, drama, song or novel, and we will always honour those with the sheer skill or determination to bring them to us. Yep, that’s right. Even Dan Brown, bless him.

One Tree Hill Dominates the TV Shows

I wouldn’t have expected anything less from the production company responsible for Smallville (an effective blending of two bipolar gender interests: comic book superheroes and teenage soap opera), but Tollin/Robbins Productions has made the lightning strike the same place twice with One Tree Hill.
One Tree Hill centers on the lives and loves of two half brothers named Lucas Scott (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan Scott (James Lafferty) who both go to a high school in Tree Hill, North Carolina, and play for the same basketball team. Other plot points in the show include their smarmy, self-serving father, Dan Scott, Nathan’s poor, downtrodden mother and their respective love interests.
The series started with Lucas being recruited by the Ravens basketball team, which experienced a sudden lack of players after most of its team members were suspended for drunk driving. Lucas’ inclusion into the team and his exceptional performance didn’t go too well with his half-brother Nathan, who is the current captain of the Ravens. Nathan wanted Lucas off the team because he felt threatened and wanted to remain as the Raven’s star player, going so far as to help kidnap is brother and throw him into a ditch. What’s important in life? Is it the material things, like the fancy house and swimming pools that makes one happy? Or is it finding fulfillment and purpose in one’s life?
For independent film actor Lodric D. Collins, it was finding happiness and fulfillment in something he is passionate about and the ability to turn that passion into a successful career.
“I wanted to be fulfilled,” the independent film actor told Regal Magazine. “I wanted to enjoy what I’m [doing].” That epiphany that Collins experienced came after visiting his mentor who seemed to enjoy all the trappings of success, like financial prosperity, but did not appear to enjoy his life or career.
It was at that moment that Collins, who holds a degree in marketing from Southern University, decided to quit his regular job and pursue his dream of acting full-time in New York. The independent film actor enjoyed acting as a hobby from childhood to college, acting in plays such as “The Wiz” and “A Blues for an Alabama Sky” in Louisiana, but living in New York provided him with the opportunity to take his career to the next level.
“I was doing it when I was younger,” Collins explained. “It was something that I enjoyed doing, but it wasn’t a practical thing [because] I was in Lake Charles, Louisiana.”
However, the acting background he received allowed him to effortlessly transition to the stages of New York, performing in several plays in the Big Apple. Nevertheless, the independent film actor was not satisfied with performing just on stage, and used his marketing background to forge an up-and-coming career in television and film. He began to use that marketing degree to develop himself as a business, which has led to roles on the hit soap opera “All My Children” and films such as “What Really Frightens You” and “It’s All Been Arranged.”
While some “serious” actors shy away from daytime dramas, Collins enjoyed his experience on “All My Children” because it taught him how to adjust to the fast pace of the soap opera environment.
“I’ve got a lot of respect for those people,” the independent film actor said. “I think that’s one of the hardest working areas and people don’t realize it (but) they actually film five days a week. Monday through Friday is a different show. Most actors are used to filming one season out of the year, (but) they film every day. It teaches you how to be quick on your feet and to adjust. You don’t have the opportunity for a second chance to do a good job.”
The independent film actor is especially proud of his role in “What Really Frightens You” because he got the opportunity to spend significant time with the director behind the scenes, learning what angles work and why directors shoot a certain way, which has made him better at his craft.
In the film, Collins plays a gang leader, which unfortunately is usually a role reserved just for African Americans. “There’s not a lot of roles for African Americans,” he said. “We’re coming out of that place. Especially when I first got (to New York), if they were casting a gang member, the next thing you saw beside it was African American.”
Despite the limited roles for African American actors, Collins enjoys playing a wide range of roles because it shows the diversity of African American life and the knowledge he received from watching behind the camera could eventually lead to less stereotypical roles, as Collins sees himself one day working as a producer.
Unfortunately, like most successful people in any field of human endeavor, the road to success for this independent film actor has been anything but easy. Collins, who had been successful at virtually everything he pursued, had to overcome rejection and self-doubt for the first time when he began his career in New York.
“There were times when I doubted myself,” said Collins. “I didn’t realize it was one of my characteristics until I came into this field. [However] you take no’s and rejections like vitamins. They make you stronger. It makes you want to push harder.”
It is that positive outlook that has allowed the independent film actor to defy the odds and find success in a business that he admits is outside of the box. “I’m on the edge of a lot of great things coming about. Big things are coming,” Collins said.
Ultimately, it is believing in big things that has allowed Collins to pursue his passion and not just a paycheck at any regular job. And it is that passion for the arts that has led to his happiness and ultimate purpose in life.

Former Days of our Lives Star Edward Mallory Dies

On April 4, 2007, Edward Mallory, who was most known for his role on NBC’s soap opera Days of Our Lives, had passed away due to yet unnamed illnesses, which wasn’t disclosed in an interview with his wife. At the age of 76, he moved on to leave his wife and former Days of Our Lives star Suzanne Zenor and his son with actress Joyce Bulifant, John Mallory Asher.
Mallory was cast for Days of Our Lives in the year 1966 and since then had played the role of Dr. Bill Horton until 1980, when he left the show and the role to Chris Stone who replaced him. Mallory’s other television appearances were on McHale’s Navy, The Munsters, Bewitched, Morning Star, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, Checkmate, Tales of Wells Fargo, Death Valley Days, Wagon Train and Perry Mason. He also appeared on the film The Birdman of Alcatraz, however, his appearance was never credited.
Being an actor had also exposed him to the concepts of directing, and through the years he became an accomplished television director, directing some episodes of Days of Our Lives, and other popular daytime soaps All My Children, The Young and the Restless and General Hospital. He also wrote, directed, and produced documentaries for The History Channel and A&E.
Mallory, who was born in Cumberland, Maryland, was a member of Frostburg State University’s Artists in Residence and was featured in the university’s magazine in 2002. He expressed his great interest in Shakespeare and his transition to working in the television and film industries. He also said that “when luck strikes, you have to be ready to grab the opportunity.”
He unfortunately passed away in Salisbury, Pennsylvania two months before his birthday on June 14, when he was supposed to celebrate his 77th year.

Top 3 David Lynch Movies

Since his debut film “Eraserhead” in 1977 David Lynch has carved his own niche in the film industry, writing and directing some of the most unique and strange films to come out of California. He has since been nominated for 13 Oscars for films he has worked on. Here is a quick introduction to the work of David Lynch and his top three films.
Blue Velvet
One of Lynch’s most famous films in large part due to the controversy surrounding it and the extensive hatred film critic Roger Ebert had for Lynch’s vision, “Blue Velvet” is still a strange, dream-like trip down main street of everytown-USA where everything isn’t as it seems. Starring Kyle MacLachlan, who would star in Lynch’s TV series “Twin Peaks” and play a reoccurring role in “Sex in the City” as well as Isabella Rossellilni, Dennis Hopper and Laura Dern, “Blue Velvet” attempts to show the seedy underside to our seemingly perfect small town American cities.
The Elephant Man
One of Lynch’s most straightforward and accessible films, “The Elephant Man” starred an indistinguishable John Hurt as disfigured Joseph Merrick and Anthony Hopkins as the man who tries to save him. Shot in black and white, “The Elephant Man” was hailed for its sensitive and accurate portrayal of Merrick’s life and appearance. Lynch handles the subject matter admirably, leaving out many of his strange directorial quirks in favor of telling a more straightforward story that will make you cry.
Mulholland Drive
Arguably the most important film of the decade, “Mulholland Drive” is a mysterious, noir-like psychological thriller mixes part Hitchcock, part soap opera, and part uniquely Lynch. It is one of the best movies about Hollywood made since possibly “Singing in the Rain,” and to this day, is debated because of its often contradictory, purposely oblique images and dialogue. “Mulholland Drive” was a powerful and breakout role for Naomi Watts who pulls no punches in her dual role in the film. No matter how you want to interpret its scenes, one thing is for sure, “Mulholland Drive” is a strong reflection on the often deadly allure and influence of Hollywood, the bright hid lights, and the pressures it puts on humans.

How To Improve Your Spanish Vocabulary

With Spanish being one of the most widely spread languages on Earth, improving your vocabulary with it won’t be as hard as with other languages, because you’ll be hearing and reading Spanish words wherever you look. It’s almost as easy as learning English as a non-native, since English can be read and heard virtually everywhere in the World through media. But obviously, there are many other ways to improve your Spanish vocabulary and we’ll be covering them in the following article.
Basic Vocabulary Learning Techniques
If you just started learning Spanish, or if you want to teach your children Spanish early on, then you’ll need some basic vocabulary improving techniques to start with. Word association is a great technique in this sense, since putting the word in a context like that makes it form a bigger picture for the person learning it. For example, if you just learn three words from three distinct contexts like “airplane”, “broccoli’ and “swordfish” they won’t really make a connection. Instead, focus your learning sessions into improving your vocabulary on specific contexts: if you learn about an “airplane” learn how to say “airport”, “passenger”, “pilot” and other words from this domain.
Another good way to improve your basic Spanish vocabulary is by using word games, puzzles, quizzes and flashcards. These methods may look a bit exaggerated for a grown-up, but trust me they work with anyone, regardless of age. The connection between the picture and the word will be interpreted much stronger by your brain, than if you would have just picked up the word from a dictionary and read its meaning.
Advanced Vocabulary Learning Techniques
As an advance method to improve vocabulary, you could try taking some free online language lessons on the various sites that offer them. Spanish learning audio-tapes or online video lessons could help, although they might be a bit too slow. One great way to improve your Spanish vocabulary at a fast pace is to watch some Spanish movies, or just watch Spanish shows on TV. Watch a Spanish soccer match, a soap opera, whatever you fancy and trust me, it will help you increase your vocabulary in no time.
The only problem with this kind of Spanish language learning techniques is that you’ll have to focus intensely on what you’re hearing / seeing and that might be a bit more tiring than if you simply learn from some written courses. Sometimes, in movies or Spanish TV shows, the actors talk fast and sometimes use dialects or accents that will make the job of understanding and subsequently learning any new words, harder.
If you hear a word that you don’t understand and can’t figure it out from the context (or are not sure if that’s what they meant), write it down and after the show/soap opera/soccer match, grab an English-Spanish dictionary and look those words up. One good trick to overcoming this obstacle is to watch the same shows or hear the same Spanish sports commentators as much as possible. Once you get used to a certain voice, it’s easier to start improving your vocabulary (since you can now focus on memorizing words, not on what the hell they’re saying).
Another great way to improve vocabulary in Spanish and have some fun at the same time is by using the 5-word daily rule. Dallas (DVD) Review

Nominated for 18 Emmys and 15 Golden Globes in its thirteen season run, Dallas is the epitome of the prime-time drama/soap opera genre. Premiering in 1978 as a five part mini-series, the show combines the usual sex and innuendo of classic afternoon soap operas with the freewheeling adventure of Texas wildcats and filthy rich capitalist oil barons. The combination of business dealings and rampant affairs tested well with both the male and female demographic, prompting CBS to make Dallas a regular part of its prime-time lineup. The result was one of the most successful television shows in history. In fact, the so-called ‘Who shot J.R.?” episode (”A House Divided” Air Date: 3-21-1980) still reigns as the second most watched TV show in history (the season finale of MASH is #1). With one of most memorable characters ever created (the man everyone loves to hate), it’s no surprise that Dallas held the #1 or #2 spot in the Nielsen ratings for most of the 1980s…
Dallas spent most of its television life in the Friday night time slot following the successful CBS series, The Dukes Of Hazzard. Creator David Jacobs originally intended to create a series around a poor Texas girl, Pam Barnes (Victoria Principal), who marries into a wealthy family (The Ewings) with whom her family has been feuding for decades. The first five episodes mostly center around the family discord faced by Pam and her husband Bobby Ewing (Patrick Duffy) as they attempt to bring their families to a truce. But it soon became apparent to producers of the show that Bobby’s scoundrel of a brother, Ewing Oil President J.R. Ewing (Larry Hagman), would be the true star of the show. Son of Ewing Oil founder Jock Ewing (Jim Davis) and his wife Ellie (Barbara Bel Geddes), J.R. sought to make Ewing Oil the largest independent oil company in the world, and he intended to go to any lengths necessary to get what he wanted. And as you’ll see, sooner or later, J.R. always gets what he wants… Along the way, he butts heads with life-long rival Cliff Barnes (Ken Kercheval), drives his own wife Sue Ellen (Linda Gray) to alcoholism, and even mortgages the beloved Southfork Ranch (Miss Ellie’s childhood home and current residence for the majority of the Ewing clan). Southfork foreman Ray Krebs (Steve Kanaly) and Ewing grandchild Lucy (Charlene Tilton) add flavorful subplots to a series often dominated by J.R.’s nefarious schemes. In short, Dallas offers its viewers everything - money, sex, violence, conspiracy, intricate business dealings, etc. If you haven’t seen it, then immediately start watching from the beginning episodes of the first season. You won’t be disappointed…!

Family legend has it that one of my distant relatives made thousands of dollars a day during the Great Depression.
Legally.
Apparently, he didn’t succumb to what I would call, “shrinking thinking,” which is prevalent during economic downturns.
Shrinking thinking assumes one very significant thing, which can be stated this way:
“Today will be inevitably less successful, less productive, and less profitable than yesterday.”
If we take our cues from the mass media, this would seem to be the case. There have been massive layoffs and unemployment has worsened, over the course of the last two years. Among those that are employed, some people are being forced to accept furloughs, reduced pay, and other setbacks and hardships.
For many, the suffering is quite palpable, and all too real.
And yet, daunting as their stories are, there are others being written that will recall this time as a watershed, a source of breakthroughs.
Those that use this time of turmoil well, that accentuate what they CAN do, will emerge strengthened instead of permanently weakened. And these folks will entertain a very different assumption:
“My destiny is shaped by factors inside of me, and not factors outside, over which I exert little direct control.”
Proctor and Gamble made the bold decision to aggressively advertise its household products during the Great Depression. In the process, that company invented what has come to be called, the soap opera, inasmuch as Ivory soap and kindred items sponsored recurring episodes of radio shows.

Apparently, he didn’t succumb to what I would call, “shrinking thinking,” which is prevalent during economic downturns.
Shrinking thinking assumes one very significant thing, which can be stated this way:
“Today will be inevitably less successful, less productive, and less profitable than yesterday.”
If we take our cues from the mass media, this would seem to be the case. There have been massive layoffs and unemployment has worsened, over the course of the last two years. Among those that are employed, some people are being forced to accept furloughs, reduced pay, and other setbacks and hardships.
For many, the suffering is quite palpable, and all too real.
And yet, daunting as their stories are, there are others being written that will recall this time as a watershed, a source of breakthroughs.
Those that use this time of turmoil well, that accentuate what they CAN do, will emerge strengthened instead of permanently weakened. And these folks will entertain a very different assumption:
“My destiny is shaped by factors inside of me, and not factors outside, over which I exert little direct control.”
Proctor and Gamble made the bold decision to aggressively advertise its household products during the Great Depression. In the process, that company invented what has come to be called, the soap opera, inasmuch as Ivory soap and kindred items sponsored recurring episodes of radio shows.

The past few months have been busy for stars of the popular soap opera, Days of Our Lives. Fans have been delighted to see them up close and personal, and away from their portrayals on the show. According to his official website, Days of Our Lives actor Matthew Ashford will be participating in a stage production entitled 1776. The historical musical will revolve around the days before the Declaration of Independence. The production is set to run from August 28, Tuesday, to September 2, Sunday.
Matthew Ashford, who plays Jack Deveraux on the daytime drama, stars as leading man Michael on the thriller, Deceit, by Bruce Kimmel. He recently promoted the play which was released on DVD on February 20.
Another recently concluded horror film entitled Chronicles of an Exorcism also features Mathew Ashford as Father Michael.
43 year old Kristian Alfonso, who plays Hope Brady, will be appearing on the Home Shopping Network on Monday, July 23 and Tuesday, July 24 to launch and promote her new clothing line, Hope by Kristian Alfonso.
In a conversation with Soap Opera Weekly, Alfonso said, “I’ve been working on it for over two years. I wanted a clothing line that would be complimentary to every age, every body type and every weight…Whether you’re up or down, you always want to be able to look great and feel feminine.”
The actress will also feature some special pieces from her jewelry line, Hope Faith Miracles.
After concluding her September trip to Ocean City, Maryland, Alfonso will proceed to the next leg of her Hope Faith Miracles tour in Memphis, Tennessee on October 5-7. Tickets are for sale at $8 per day and $15 for three days. Children below 12 are free of charge.
Actors Bryan Dattilo (Lucas), Martha Madison (Belle), Rachel Melvin (Chelsea), and Blake Berris (Nick) are flying to Greenville, South Carolina to attend the Days Into the Night Charity Event, which will be held on August 3-5.
